Cape Cod homes take a beating year-round. Salt air off Nantucket Sound, freeze-thaw cycles through the winter, nor'easters that push moisture into walls, and the high summer humidity all leave their mark on interior surfaces. Nail pops, hairline cracks at drywall seams, water stains from a slow roof leak, and dings from moving furniture are among the most common things we see before a paint job. Painting over damaged walls without repairing them first is a shortcut that shows, and on the Cape, where many homes are summer rentals or high-value properties that need to look their best, that is not an option.
Our approach is to repair first and paint second, treating wall work as part of the same job rather than a separate trade to call in. We use setting-type compounds for deeper repairs that resist shrinking, feathered finish coats that blend invisibly into the surrounding surface, and spot priming before topcoating so a patched area holds the same sheen as the rest of the wall. The result is a surface that looks repaired only if you know exactly where to look, and usually not even then.

How it works
Our Wall Repair & Restoration process
01
01
Inspect
We walk the room and mark every crack, pop, dent, soft spot and water stain before touching anything.
02
02
Repair
Setting compound, mesh tape, corner bead, or a replacement panel depending on what the damage actually needs, not the fastest fix.
03
03
Sand and Prime
After the compound dries fully, we sand the patch flat and spot-prime so the topcoat looks even across the whole wall.
04
04
Paint and Finish
We roll and cut the wall to match the surrounding finish, leaving no visible patch lines or sheen differences.
Wall Repair & Restoration across the Cape
We are based in Falmouth and work in every Cape Cod town, plus Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Rhode Island.
Cost depends on how many repairs there are and how large each one is. Small patches and nail pop repairs typically run in a range that most homeowners find reasonable alongside a paint job, while larger areas involving water damage or panel replacement cost more. The only way to give you an honest number is to see the walls. We offer free estimates with no visit fee, usually with same-day response.
In most cases, yes. Common textures on Cape Cod homes, including smooth, orange peel, and light knockdown, can be matched closely enough that the repair is not visible after painting. Very heavy or custom textures may not be a perfect match, but we will tell you that upfront before we start.
Yes. We remove soft or stained sections, replace them with new drywall, tape and compound the seams, and prime before painting. If the source of the moisture is still active, we will point that out before we repair, because there is no point in patching a wall that is going to get wet again.
It depends on the paint. Spot painting a repair almost always shows a slight sheen or color difference under raking light, especially on older walls. Rolling the full wall gives a uniform finish and is the approach we recommend for rooms where appearance matters. We will give you an honest opinion when we see the space.
Setting-type compound used for deeper repairs can be ready to sand in a few hours. Standard joint compound needs 24 hours or more per coat, and most repairs need at least two coats. We plan the repair schedule so the wall is fully dry and primed before paint goes on, which typically means repair and paint happen on consecutive days for most jobs.
